That’s better. Now, I was wondering, is this really the way you want to set up a meeting? Sending your people in yet again? At least he and his followers were only foolish enough to pursue the Animus.

We’ve heard your requests for a meeting, and we’re considering it. But there are a lot of things to be sorted out first. The biggest question is who guarantees our safety? We’ve gotten some talk, but not a great deal. We need assurances.

[She chuckles shortly.]

Maybe a bigger question is who would even attend if it was about talk instead of fighting. Most of you seem only intelligent enough to know which end of a stick is the pointy one.

What part of "requiring guarantees of safety" translates to "yes, I would love tea with an outsider"?

It was a different group this time, but it does symbolize the growing rift between those whom are inside, and those whom are outside. I believe the benefits to holding the meeting I've asked for are clear.

I will use my own men to guarantee your safety. I am certain we can secure a location, and you have seen that Unohana is also interested in this. You will have your safety.

As far as interest in attending, there should be a great many who would use this opportunity wisely. Those who would not will be excluded.

That would belong under the "invasion" category, correct.

Now try one for "meeting."

But my concern remains on prevention, not protection alone. We're not going out to be caught between two sets of barbarians who can't agree as to what a meeting entails.

Okay. Well, I haven't been here long but I would like to request some talk about these Events happening. I'm not sure if you're the right person to talk to but I wouldn't mind having a meeting on that.

Benefits to who, I wonder? I see a lot of vague promises of safety, and even vaguer ideas as to who would even be able to participate in a dialogue that didn't involve threats.

That rift was carved there by you outsiders. If there's anything to be done about it, it will take more than a few dim ideas.

Perhaps. The regular invasions do put something of a hamper on our efforts.

The first steps toward peace require compromise.

I will be there. Unohana will be there. Bran Cornick, Billy Horrible, Zexion, those names I am certain of. Many others would logically come as well, most especially those of Konoha.

I will not debate who caused the rift. That is not the reason for this communication, I believe.

The Dai'elle should be able to remedy this problem once she sees it; she is one of the biggest supporters of the idea to make any sort of peace after all.

However, if you want a guarantee that everyone will agree, that's impossible, it's already been proven, twice, that there are several here who will not agree to any sort of peace between us except subjugation.

Compromise? If that means providing everything we find necessary, then by all means, compromise.

And the previous attempts have been so amazingly successful at ultimately accomplishing nothing, of course it means to try again.

I do not know what Madara's goal was, nor do I know what he did while he was inside. But my own did not accomplish nothing.

I cannot speak for everyone, but certainly even small steps forward will be useful?

So a few supporters, and the rest a violent mass? No agreement can come out of that, much less an appealing one.

We don't have to take things to extremes. This is still early in the process, so we won't get every single thing we want right away.
