{Unified Universe Project} [Accidental Voice Post]

[A voice is heard, one that's been heard before.]

I need numbers, dammit! How many did we lose to the Outsiders?

[Professor Anderson speaks.] Numbers don't matter here, sir. What matters is finding a way to prevent this from happening a--

Do I look like I want your opinion? I want numbers, now. And I want the stupid botanist punished. I want everyone who might have talked punished! And let me know when our people start coming back to life.

Two already have. One of them can't stop shaking, though. He got attacked by our own ro--

I. Don't. Care. Get out of my sight. And send me Greg and Matthew. I want to know how this started.

Sir.

[There's the sound of footsteps, and after a few moments the connection clicks off.]

Please. You did it once because a moron who is now paying for his mistake figured some bitch couldn't get enough people to follow her and that there was no threat.

They do concern me, I'm the one she talked to.

Do all of you have to be so boring and defensive?

[identity profile] adstring-npc.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
...Yes? So?

[identity profile] istoppedtime.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
What so? Stop being stupid and work with us not against us.

She talked to a man in a--

No, that's the voice on the tapes. Why so concerned over someone you talked to for a couple of minutes?

[identity profile] adstring-npc.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, pull together, be a happy family.

Why would you think any of us would give a care about any of you? We haven't initiated contact, both times it's been an accident.

[identity profile] codename-m.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Says the person who started the conversation with insults.

I've reached the conclusion that you're just complaining for the sake of it, even if it doesn't make much sense. Having a bad day? Or perhaps you've been ordered to play the role of frustrated smartass to distract us?

I'm confused. What exactly happened?

'Fore you piss at me too, I'm a scientist too. I don't know. Maybe we can be sciencey friends. Have slumber parties with test tubes and paint each others nails with... ... uhh... dry ice. Yeah. Sure.

Just because our paths only crossed once, doesn't mean she means less as a person. And it doesn't mean she should be punished for something that wasn't her fault.

Leave her be.

... Classy.

If you know the guy who shot me...tell him "thanks for temporarily crippling me, jackass" for me.

[identity profile] adstring-npc.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
No. You do something wrong, there are consequences.

[identity profile] adstring-npc.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, I'm having a great day. My compound was attacked, files were stolen, some of my people are dead, and now you all are full of self-importance.

[identity profile] adstring-npc.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a difference between scientist and mad scientist. Go build more daughters with the other mad ones there.

Him? He got a raise.

She already had some of her work destroyed by your guards. I think that's punishment enough.

Besides, I can return the original documents I took from you, no worse for wear, if you leave her alone. They're important for your records, aren't they?

[identity profile] throws-gun.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh hey, someone WAS watching me in the shower.

But seriously. I'm, uh, really confused.

You'll return them all, intact, not damaged?

How many of the missing ones do you have? I might accept that exchange.

[identity profile] adstring-npc.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Multiple people from Outside attacked us, slaughtering scientists and guards alike, breaking our machines, stealing our files, supplies, and some results. Is that clear enough?

[identity profile] thefirstuchiha.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
So sure of yourself when there is no threat, aren't you? Big words for someone who is hiding like a coward within the Inner City. I'm sure if we were having this conversation face-to-face, you would not be nearly as cocky as you are now.

[identity profile] throws-gun.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
...Ah, was that...? ...hm.

I will. No damage other than a bent corner here and there, but I can easily fix that up.

Quite a bit of information from the fourth floor, the files on Uchiha Sasuke, information about the original project, and quite a lot of others. Enough to fill a backpack.

I don't have all of them, but I know I have quite a few.

Leave them at the gap in the wall in one hour. The guards will have orders not to shoot you as long as you only approach the wall, set down the backpack, wait for them to go through it, and then leave.

If you stick to that, with no tricks, she'll be off the hook. Try anything, and she'll regret it.
