That’s better. Now, I was wondering, is this really the way you want to set up a meeting? Sending your people in yet again? At least he and his followers were only foolish enough to pursue the Animus.

We’ve heard your requests for a meeting, and we’re considering it. But there are a lot of things to be sorted out first. The biggest question is who guarantees our safety? We’ve gotten some talk, but not a great deal. We need assurances.

[She chuckles shortly.]

Maybe a bigger question is who would even attend if it was about talk instead of fighting. Most of you seem only intelligent enough to know which end of a stick is the pointy one.

What is it for? Whatever we choose it to be for.

But how do we know if we want to come without knowing what it's for?

Our presence alone should be of sufficient interest. As of yet, I've seen little to prove it'd be worth the risk.

Why? Can you help us get home?

Perhaps. The regular invasions do put something of a hamper on our efforts.

Your people can't even work together on your own, if this disorganization and confusion is anything to go by. We can do without that manner of assistance.

If nobody is willing to answer anybody's questions because they don't know who's not trustworthy how can we start trusting each other?

You're asking questions that are irrelevant and you can find out by talking to the other Outsiders. I have no reason to answer them.

But you just said you want assurances from us. If you won't trust us to give us answers how will you trust what we say?

That's not my problem, it's yours. Surmount it.

Why do grownups here expect so much from all the kids here?

Why did you stick your nose into something that's clearly too big for you?

Because it seems to affect everybody. So it's important.

If you choose to get involved, then don't complain about it being too big or you being too young. Your mistakes or limitations are not my concern.

How am I supposed to do anything but? You're telling me to go expect other people to do something you're not willing to. How does that help anything?

It's not my job to baby you, and I wouldn't want to even if it was. I'm not the nuturing type; I've never wanted spawn. It's the job of the Outsiders to inform their own.

Asking to share information is important. I want to know from both sides what's going on.

Get informed first, and then talk to me. You're not worth my time until then.
